CMC CATOSPHERES
CMC catospheres are balls made of plastic (carboxymethylcellulose) outside coated with a layer of copper. This kind of ball is mixed with the parts to be subjected to galvanic treatment or tumbling. The balls are extremely useful for protecting parts during treatment to avoid damage and prevent them from sticking together. Also, CMC catospheres allow the galvanic treatment of miniature and delicate parts, reducing the times required and therefore the cost of electroplating. The balls are ight in weight and have a density that is useful in all types of galvanic solutions. For example, the galvanic tumbling of semi-conductors, electronic components and small gold hardware and fixtures is facilitated by the use of this technique.
CMC catospheres are the ideal solution to reduce the costs of electro-plating and eliminate damage to parts as a result of the galvanic treatment.
CMC catospheres have spherica precision, are easy to sieve and are produced in millimetric diameters. The balls are not varnished and are therefore conductive, but they attract very little current because of their very low intensity. They also help to distribute the metal uniformly and with greater accuracy. The balls can be re-used and can be refined for use with gold or other precious metals in the galvanic process.
MAIN CHARACTERISTICS OF THE CMC CATOSPHERES
Completely coated with copper - Tickness of the copper layer 0,05-0,07 mm - Tolerance on the diameter of the copper-plated balls ± 0,1 mm - Density 1,40
Each ball is perfectly spherical with no surface defects. The balls are light and protect the product from damage. They reduce the times and costs of electro-plating and processing in general
They increase electrical contact of metallic fixtures and hardware and allow a greater and more uniform distribution of the metal during the galvanic process. They can be re-used and do not contain varnish. They are ideal for galvanic treatments of semi-conductors and gold fixtures and hardware.
Available diameters
mm 1,1-1,5 - 2 - 2,5 -3-3,5-4-4,5-5-6-7-8-10-12-14-16-18
Other types of balls are available on order.
